DESCRIPTION
PRESSEO is a mechanical separation technique that removes particles from effluent by pressing them between filter cloths to extract the water.
The sludge is fed (after conditioning) through two plates equipped with filter cloths. The water resulting from filtration (called filtrate) passes through the cloths, while the sludge is retained between the two plates. Once the desired pressure is reached, the plates open and the dewatered sludge is removed from the unit.
APPLICATIONS
TYPE D’INDUSTRIE
The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
Urban, industrial, lagoon, and industrial cleaning sludge
Other industries
Biotechnology, cosmetics, chemicals, paper mills, textiles… Municipal wastewater treatment plants

How it works
The process involves injecting slurry between filter cloths to
remove water at the unit’s rated pressure. The sludge can be “conditioned” in several ways, notably by adding polymer (at the sludge pump), by adding lime or slaked lime, and/or ferric chloride upstream of the unit (by mixing in a reactor).
The movable plate, pushed by the cylinder, presses against the stack of plates with the necessary force to ensure that liquids do not leak during filtration.
The pressing time depends on the type of sludge and the filter’s capacity, and ranges from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the nature of the sludge. Once pressing is complete, the cylinder retracts to allow the filter cakes to be removed.
